Vise Jack Attachment

I wanted to share my most proud achievement...Well ok not the MOST proud, but I do smile everytime ive used it so far this week since throwing it together...My jack vise. This may be something most guys have thought of already but ive yet to see one so far and it came to me while wishing i had an extra hand. The vise grips are just keeping it from a little wobble. I needed some help holding my sliders up while i figure out where they are gonna go, so I welded an old socket on one end of the sq tube and a piece of scrap dom on the other, and then another socket to the bottom of an old vise which all slips in and out of eachother...So many times ive complained ALOUD about not having a tall enough jack and fumbled with blocks to accommodate...This works great now and I have the clamping thing going on! Then... you just pull the vise off and throw the old jack plate back ontop of the whole contraption and boom...now you got about 10" more height to the lifting height of the jack.

jack stands work great and if its not tall enough i put a large piece of wood under each one.. i do this with my low profile jack as well since i originally came from lowered cars

This is why I have two boys. They hold stuff well and work for cookies.

I used paving stones under the jack/stand. The only time I ever put anything on top of a jack was while I was installing my BL and that was a 2x4 since I was jacking against the body. I just hope you don't try to lift the weight of the vehicle like that.

A Jack stand doesn't hold a slider in place very well while tacking it up. This worked well for that.
