how many of you out ther have a bender for tubing. ive wanted one for a while and have always seen these ones at harbor freight does anyone have one like these, and how hard is it to bend with it. any feedback would be cool. late.

and either i suck at using it, or i'm not getting something.

for slight bends it's at best ok, but for steep bends it kinks.

don't waste your money, i started using "weld L's" you can get them in 45 and 90 degrees, alot easier than bending.

 

that one may work ok, but i've never used it.

 

You wont be bending much, slight bends are ok-sharp ones it kinks with those kinda things. you need a quality bender and they dont come cheap.

 

I have that same one. It kinks pretty bad, the best way i found to use is it to slightly move the pipe after a few cranks on the jack and move it back and forth along the bend until you get the desired bend or jsut heat the tube..

 

i've been using the weld "L's" with good results, i've given up on the kinker

 

That POS you guys are looking at is a PIPE bender...and that is a stretch...a good tube bender setup is going to cost you $500 plus and tubing dies are $250 EACH.

Pipe and tube are NOT the same thing at all.

If you want to bend tubing, invest in a TUBE bender.

I have a JD squared model 3 bender. I like it and it isn't too pricey. The bumper that I made in the FAB section took maybe 30 minutes to bend, super easy to use.

I have a bunch of hyd rams at Pop's house we might even be able to convert over. Defiantly putting that on the short list.
