i'm phasing out craftsman stuff for the most part. ratchets are getting replaced by proto or blackhawk, and my sockets have been getting replaced by kobalt. i'm a little leery of buying lifetime warranty stuff from a place like lowes with a tiny socket section(you can only get kobalt 6pt sockets in a set) so i don't know what they'd do if i broke one. fortunately they're pretty beefy.

btw, kobalt is made by snap-on.

I bought a Stanley socket and wrench set from Wal-mart(152 piece Mechanic set) for $125. Have had them for over a year now and I beat the S$%$% out of them on a daily basis. I use them with impact wrenches and as punches etc etc. What I like most is the carrying case every thing fits into it and goes neatly behind seat of my truck. It has almost every size socket and wrench you will every need to tackle all your home and vehicle maint. and even comes in handy when rebuilding motors(the few bigger odd size sockets and and wrenches are stored in my truck box). I have owned and used thousands of $'s worth of tools over the years and this set has been by far the best bang for the buck and have lifetime warranty as well ( I can't seem to even brake the rackets when I use them as breaker bars and 3' pipe attached)

As much as the price kills me...I bought some 3/8" drive impact deep wells from the local Mac driver. I just can't find 3/8" drive deep impacts that are worth their weight so I ponied up the money. I figure they oughta last me till I die, or at least until all the mac tool truck drivers die

He He this is kind of off topic, but today my girl bought me a Ridgid 1/2 drive 18v cordless drill. BOOYAAA! She does love me!! In the past year and a half I have killed three cheaper makes of cordless drills and this one comes with a Lifetime warranty.. even on the battery +1 .

God I love her.
