I HIGHLY recommend these for oil changes. When I first started working at my dealership, another employee working there introduced me to the oil filter claw and immediately I went to sears and bought me one for about 20 bucks. It clamps down tightly and for those practically welded on filters it just takes it off with a little bit of hand force on the ratchet. The drawbacks though are that you have to keep tension on it to keep the "claws" stuck to the filter, also in super tight places it's really awkward to work with. It works perfect on my 4Runner and almost all Chevy trucks and SUVs.

 

those are nice...I've got one that's only got 2 claws but these are definately the way to go if you need a wrench

 

I got one of those from SEARS...it is a Craftsman, works great, but I can get to my oil filter pretty easily, this just makes it that much easier. Definitely worth the $$$.

 

I have recommended those for a long time, especially since the the 3.4 came out and the filter can be a pain to get at.

Yea, those are cool. I've got 2, one from auto zome for like 5 bucks and one from sears. Great tool.

 

yup i used to have a couple at work.... 2 big clawed ones and the 3 clawed sears one.... they work well on those really stuck filters

 

Nice, I've got the snap-on replica of that. Great tool. Add on a super long 3/8 extension and wah-lah! Piece of cake. On my 2.7 I use my hand though.

 

I'll have to pick one of those up.
