miller 375 x-treme plasma cutter

Hey guys, I just ordered a miller 375 x-treme plasma cutter. Has anybody used one of these? If so, I'm curious what you think of this unit.

My dad has the Miller 625 at the house. I use it all the time and have to say that it is so much nicer than having to use a cutting wheel or torch. They do take some getting used to in order to make some nice cuts.

That's the one I have. It's great for me but I don't have anything else to compare it to besides a gas-axe.
I got one of these to knock off the slag.

Acetylene cutting torch - crude cuts and again you have to clean up your edges with a grinder. It's very time consuming grinding the edges until they are clean and true.

Hiya Wyoming9, I'd rather be wrong and learn something than proud and ignorant. My Miller 375 x-treme plasma cutter only has two adjustments. The amperage dial and the on off switch. The air flow is regulated at 90 psi by the plasma cutter. I have an air/moisture filter to prevent water although the lines are normally dry anyhow. What exactly are you doing to make for a cleaner cut without contaminates? Are you using nitrogen something? Plasma is definitely cleaner than acetylene but it a long cry from a clean cut that an angle grinder with a cut off wheel will provide. When I cut A36 with my plasma I get cuts that are almost good enough to weld but there is still quite a bit of junk from the cut edge. Are you using MIG or TIG on your welds?
