Ingersoll and Rand 2135TiMax Impact Wrench

I bought a I.R. 2135TiMax 1/2" impact wrenches from Sears and it stated that it produced 1000Ft Lbs of torque. I thought to myself--that would do away with the need to get a big ol gun for really tough items. So i plop down the dough. Get it home and it is nice, but it doesnt hit like it has 1000lbs of torque.

There have been times when the tires guys at the shop just wack on the lugs with their old beat down guns. So i go home and try to loosen them with my Ubber gun and they wont budge..WTF!!! Just a side note i have a 60 gallon 14.5cfm 125 psi 220v compressor.

Write I.R. and they state that it does make that kind of power--just a 24CFM's @90 PSI.

So i reread everything and nowhere does it state that it requires 24cfm to produce 1000lbs. Honestly i dont think it is even getting over 200ft lbs of reverse torque at 90psi and 14.5 cfm.

What do ya'll think--am i missing something here?
