DREMEL TOOL....cordless vs corded....

so i am looking to get this tool from wallmart and cant decide on which one to get.
cordless, i can take anywhere..curious on the battery life (anyone have one/comment).
corded, use in house and possibly use it in and or around the runner with a power inverter....could one handle the dremels high rpm? how many watts?

Corded, I hate betteries if I can avoid them.

A $30 inverter will allow you to use it on the trail as well if need be.

Corded... I have both and the cordless has a slower overall speed and less power. Not to mention the batteries eventually go out. In fairness though, I have had my cordless one for quite a while, but I've upgraded to the corded and it's much better

If you're looking for something you can use on the trail, I guess I could see the cordless, but the difference in power makes it half the tool the corded version is.

I can run a 3/8" Craftsman drill off of a 400 watt, so anything around there would be just fine.

I haven't used the battery one, but the corded one still lacks power sometimes so I can't imagine how gimpy the cordless one would be. I've used an inverter to power mine in the truck and I used to carry it for trail use. Now a days I leave it home because I think it'd be useless as a trail tool. Anything that breaks on the trail will need something much bigger than a dremel.

get the corded one... Dremels aren't all that heavy duty. They are useless for cutting through bolts, i know from experience.

get an angle grinder!!!

look at Grizzly's Rotary tools. I recently got one that seemed about 1/2 price of a dremel. Seems pretty good

Corded Dremel for sure!
The wattage is low, probably 100-200 watts total for an inverter.

There are only a few things i will ever own thats cordless: A name brand power drill, a TV/stereo remote control, a wireless headset, a flashlight, a cell phone, and MAYBE a computer mouse. Everything else sucks.

I have the cordless one from walmart. its great for really small quicky jobs and i use it virutally exclusively for trimming my dogs nails. you use the 3/8 corse dum sander thingie.

battery life is surpriseingly good on low speed.

i also have a corded and do perfer that for real dremel work.
