Trail Gear Sliders on a 3rd gen 4Runner

Well, I finally, got to having these put on for me. Would have liked to try welding these on myself, but I don't have the time or welding equipment. Yet.

Mounted them a little different than suggested, as the wife really wanted to be able to step on them getting in and out of the truck.

So they are mounted horizontally instead of the usual upward angle, and the legs were left long to allow enough room to get a good step on them. I find them to be better to step on than the factory running boards, which were too tucked in to the body and low down to be of much use when exiting the truck.

I haven't taken the truck wheeling with them yet, but hope to soon.

I am going to get them covered in bedliner next week and then take some pictures.

My satisfaction with the product has just as much to do with getting a quality install on these as anything else. I had Trevor of Olds Exhaust Bay do the work for me. He has an interest in offroad vehicles and has done fab work for others that I have seen and liked the price and quality of.

So I guess my little tidbit of advice here is to do your homework and search out a quality shop to do the install for you if you are not doing it on your own.

Thanks for reading!
