Moog = crap
Hey y'all, just want to give a heads up...
I don't know about you guys, and girls, but I've always thought that Moog products were a top quality great part to put in your vehicle if you plan on keeping it for a long time. well, Id read some negative stuff on Moog lately, but just couldn't believe it. I recently rebuilt the entire front end of my 2004 4 X4 Tacoma and used what I thought were Quality Parts. I put Moog lower control arm bushings in, and I've had serious drivability and alignment issues ever since. Turns out that the Moog bushings are absolute crap, you would think that they were made out of foam rubber the way that they move around and allow the control arm to change its geometry. so, hoping that this saves at least one person the absolute headache of removing your lower control arms & bushings twice. Ain't learning fun?😡

I was completely done with Moog before a friend's lower ball joint failed after 3 WEEKS. They used to be better a long time ago. A lot of things used to be better, especially the rubber bits. For me it's either oe or poly depending on where it's going and what's available for the squishy parts.

All my steering components & u joints are moog & I haven't had a single issue myself in my 82 4x4 pickup. If you buy TRW, advanced auto house brand, Auto Zone duralast , Napa store brand, quick steer, raybestos or any federal mogul made part they are are "moog"
I do know moog is fighting a massive influx of Chinese made counterfeits in boxes that are identical except the bar code & some of the parts even have moog cast into them.
Here's how you can check if you still have the box

I'm not saying you guys bought the counterfiets but these chinese parts have flooded online parts stores, they all over ebay & some shipments have even been found in some of the major parts store chains like napa, AutoZone & Orileys plus many more I can't remember.
I'm also not saying you guys didn't get crappy moog parts it's 100% possible, I just know mine were better/heavier built than my oem steering parts.

I don't buy any of those for most stuff but interesting link anyway, and good to know. I don't know if my friend still has the Moog box for his lower ball joint. Stupid counterfeits are everywhere, including Toyota parts.
There are definitely some things that Moog did better than OE, at least back when I used to use them for parts for my Fords.

Yes sir, I a guy has to be diligent these days to ensure his parts are quality & correct no matter the name brand sadly. I saw where tons of name brands from weber to Banks performance we're fighting counterfiets in the auto industry....damn shame really

I watched this video and determined I will not buy their stuff. I will be going through the front end next on my truck and will be using oem and poly. It cost a bit more and I get that... You get what you pay for.
