LCEPerformance soft (solid) color top 84-89 4runner 5 stars!

In my quest for a soft top (bikini top in this case) for the 4runner got turned off by the prices for Killertoptoys and softopper (not bashing them) but the 1984 4runner just wasn't worth the $1000+ top. Many older threads were linked to no longer ongoing businesses and the diy options using cj7 and wranger tops were all not my thing as it was just a ton of work for something that didn't fit right. even looked at the famous 4crawler site but the brackets he sold would put me into a price range without the top that it just looked impractical price wise.... Almost went to a buddy who runs a sewing shop but I would still have to fab a front bracket. Then.... lcepormance came into my mind since I run their long tube header and tons of other parts.

They carry two lines: (Both say for 85 and up but confirmed fit for 1984 and up.)
85 and up 4runner bikini top with a mesh (its some sort of uv strong mesh material) for around $200 before shipping
85 and up 4runner bikini top (solid) a pvc composite/hybrid material looked just like jeep soft tops for like $25 more.

I called to ask some questions and felt it was the right choice. Made the order and in like 4 days it was here. i swear it was like $256 and some change....

Overall very impressed for the price point and simple installation. No instructions were included but it took 30 seconds to see how it attached. Took me maybe 10 minutes and that was just because i had just barley removed the top, opened the box to make sure it looked right.

To mount it: Use the top row canopy to cab bolts to mount the top bracket that's sewn into the top get them aligned and not tightened yet. Then I stretched the bikini top over the top of the rear roll bar and ran the support straps to the hole on each side used to mount the top. Made sure it looked right and snugged the bolts and after a few days in the sun tightened up the two rear tension straps just a bit. The tension straps even have Velcro backing for extra tension protection. If the top ever tore I'm confident I could have a copy made locally or if LCE would sell just the top (doubtful as its sewn around the mounting bracket. The bracket is nice and painted black and was a perfect fit to the cab body with no bending or forcing to align holes.

You still need/want the seal between the top of the topper and the cab (waiting on mine from softtopper there adhesive bulb seal) and there is some sag in the middle between the mount bracket and the rollbar but honestly cruising at 55mph I didn't hear any flapping so I don't consider it a problem. You'll notice I used the wrong bolts to mount the rear tension straps. I got it fitted and just left them there. Its cheaper than building a DIY one using the cj7/8 or trying to stretch a wrangler one and honestly just a good product.
*I get nothing from LCEPerformance for this just giving credit due for a quality product for a vehicle thats getting harder to find stuff for.

If anyone has thoughts on a UV Protection or conditioner spray let me know. All I know is this material is a "PVC composite fabrics are made of proprietary vinyl formulations and have an inner reinforcement core fabric woven from high tenacity polyester yarns." So I'm curious about what others spray their bikini tops with. I'm up north so its not as bad but I still like to go the extra mile for my vehicles.
