Keen Steel Toe Boots

I figured the hard working, outdoor type that use this forum would use steel toe boots.
I have been a fan of red wings for years but they have gotten really expensive. While looking
for a new pair of boots I stumbled into a shop carrying these new keen industrial shoes. They have similar looks to the hiking boots, steel toes, light and super comfortable. I have had them a few months now they seem to be holding up well.

I got mine at a little shoe store in Shelby, NC but I'm sure you can get them on Zappos.com or something like that.

Thanks for the suggestion - I definitely like patronizing the local places where I can try things on rather than Zappos. Do you know if these things run small or large?

I usually wear an 11 in most shoes and do in these too. They have these fabric loops that the shoe strings go through and today my first one ripped out. They have been wore daily since december and gotten wet hundreds of times so I think they have done pretty well, most of the tread is still good.

thanks for the heads up on the boots. I'm an electrician and my boots take a huge beating. I have always been a fan of Redwing as well but with the prices getting higher and higher and the boots needing to be re-soled every six months or so I decided to try another brand. (Not trying to hijack your thread or anything) Check out Redback. I've been beating them up for about half a year now and they are doing great. I might check out Keen on the next pair.

Keen makes a great product. I own a pair of their sandals, the ones with the big rubber toe box in the front. Worn them steadily over 3 summers and they are finally showing signs of needing to be replace with a new pair. $90-$100 is a lot for a pair of sandals, but i'm not even going to hesitate in the spring buying another pair.
