I did the same trail a few yrs back... Breathtaking... I also did the lower rim trail and camped over night. I herd some wierd stuff that night, or my mind was playing tricks on me....lol...

One of the most beautiful places I've been. I hiked to Angels Landing and to Hidden Canyon across the valley from there. You can see the two mountains framing Hidden Canyon in the 5th picture of the original series above (the one marked Joe Braun Photog.). Hidden Canyon is behind the mountain with the large cliff-face on the left edge of the photo (under 'Photography'). Behind it is Cable Mountain (under 'Braun') where there was a huge rock-slide on my way back to the shuttle. That was one of the coolest natural events I've ever seen until I started wondering if the debris was going to stop on the high plateau or if I should start looking for places to hide. Nothing bigger than a dime made it to where I was, but some of them were approaching supersonic speeds by then. Anyways, here's part of the trail to Hidden Canyon -
No chains here, although other parts of the trail did have them. The widest part you can see here is maybe 4ft. I was a little nervous.
Don't ever pass up a chance to go to Zion. Of course, once you're there, you'll have to extend your trip to see everything else that's within a day's drive. Check out other photos from my trip HERE.

I sort of live here
I live just north of Zion. Climbed up Angels 15 or so times. To the north across the valley is Observation Point. Its a 2100 ft/7 mile hike and well worth it. The best part though is as you continue up the canyon and hike up the Virgin River Narrows where at times its 13 ft wide with 1500 ft of rock overhead. Dark even at noon.

I might be 40 but I can make it from the top of Angels to the parking lot in 26 minutes. But man its mean on the knees.

Here Ya Go. Oh, lots of nice dunes to dust and I know of a cool skinny dipping place outside of Zion Natl Park where you jump off a waterfall. Come to think of it there is another nice place outside of Mammoth Yellowstone that only the locals know of where hotsprings enter the river. Its awesome also. No skinny dipping though.
