Zion National Park Pics (Angel's Landing) Wow!

I know I already had a vacation thread started, however what I did today deserves its own thread (IMO).

My brother in-law and I went to Zion National Park today to hike to Angel's Landing.

This is a 4 hour round trip hike culminating in a stunning panoramic view of the entire canyon.

Getting to the top is challenging, the path is as little as 18 inches at points with shear cliff drop offs in excess of 1000 feet on both sides. There is a chain to hold on to at points, but one slip and you are a gonner

Enjoy.

My brother in law and I....at the top of angel's landing

View of Zion Park from the top

view of road below from the top

Climbing the saddle to the top (these 3 are online photos to give you some perspective of hiking the saddle to the top, I was way to scared to get my camera out at this point)

I will freely admit that I was scared to death. I tried to quit the last 100 meters, but my bro in law talked me into it. Glad he did.

Nice job! The temps have to be pretty brutal up there right now. I head up there to climb about three or four times a year -- beautiful park.

You oughta try getting to the top of Angel's Landing the "easy" way some time. ;-)

Be sure to stop in at Cafe Oscar for breakfast in the morning. Great grub and they usually have a couple of hotties waiting tables. Head across the street to the Mean Bean for your coffee. Where are you guys staying?

My brother in law lives in Cedar City, so that is where we are staying. We went to Cedar Breaks National Monument on the way back today. We went to Zion 2x in the past 2 days.

Yep, all the way up. I tried to quit before I got to the top (I was SCARED). Its as little as 18 inches in a few places, generally 2-3 feet wide. There is also a chain to hang on to most of the time.

I'm never doing it again.

OMG. I cannot construct a coherent sentence to begin to describe how crazy and beautiful that canyon is. I'll definately have to mark this down as "things to do before I die, or die trying" list.

PLEASE tell me you have a 1600x1200 of this picture that you can Email me!

although I can't think of many places more beautiful to die. Of all the temples in Utah...this is the most spectacular.

I'd wheel it.....LOL

Those pics look awesome though, I wish I knew somewhere like that to go around here, but this is Arkansas. Anyboy know the highest point in Arkansas, I think it's around 600 or something.
