Trip down to Port A few pics (warning 56K)

Well I have never posted a picture of the runner till now. So this weekend I went Port A for some sun and fun, and had to take the runner out on the beach. I only had the camera on one outing though, but here it is.

You buy a beach pass at the convenient store; this funds county maintenance to clean the beach up. The part I drove is not part of the maintenance area I was looking for driftwood, with the sister and law. So rest assure The Beach up the road is clean of all seaweed and trash. This part was not!

Here is one of the two kite-boarders I saw, I really need to learn this it, looks like so much fun.

Here is a crane on waters edge

A view from the condo we stayed at

And finally my rig

If you are ever down in Tejas and what do hit the beach, plenty of coast line to drive on. The is a place called bird Island about 20-30 miles father south where the road ends on the beach and there is a sign 4x4 only. On my adventure I never even had to air down.

I know a couple guys who are going down there very soon for this Bacardi "Harvest Moon" Sailboat race they are running in. Having sailed with them before, I'm pretty jealous. Sweet pictures btw.

No doubt I think the waves are joke too, I was saying thanks for the compliments on the pictures. However We do have hellish good fishing. You can pull 37-45 inch reds out of the gulf, not to mention the water temp we have. Damn the water is cold in Cali. But for sure the surf is a joke here. I Went out to Cali to the bay area and SoCal a couple years ago and was amazed to see a curl in the wave. But darn the water was freaking cold and it was August.

I love Cali but can't stand the traffic.
