That does look cool. How many miles is that trek? Wife loves camping, but our schedules never line up enough to do something cool like that.

Every time I run the route on google maps it grabs different road, but it looks like it averages about 80 miles..

Have you bounced those roads of the forest service road conditions site?

Is that taking you up to staircase? If not you should try to get up that way and check out the hot springs

I have not.. Still in the planning stages, but will diffidently have too, there is Coho campsite up there so it can be horrible.. Will make a couple scouting runs to check it out.. in the spring still looks like a lot of snow up there..

Will do, I'll let you guys know probably late spring early summer, when we do it I still need to finish beefing up my runner and find out where to get current road conditions and closers in that area, I have an old forestry map that's a couple of years old but shows where the roads are.

Anyone know any good forestry links?

Should be a fun trip..

This is for Mt Baker, but you can navigate thru it to find the ONF stuff:

I was able to get to this area this weekend. Started out staying the night at Staircase and then wandered down to the start of the planned route to check out the area. Ended up going over the Steel Bridge and found a new campground called Brown creek. We ended up driving 53.5 miles round trip from trail head out. Here is a picture of the trip.

i spent quite a bit of exploring up in the ONF last summer... good place to camp.

We did, found it by accident and was amazed by it. That bridge is almost a hundred years old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Steel_Bridge

Here are some pictures from the trip .
