TDS....So Cal Desert fun

Well it was a small YT turnout...3 of us, plus a jeep. We had a blast...wheeled Truckhaven for most of the day on Sat...then we headed over to Ocotillo Wells for Tierra Del Sol. We walked around the vendor area, looked at rigs, said hello to Marlin. We ended up meeting up with some guys from TTORA and camped with them.....now for some pics

Truckhaven on Sat...

Some sweet rigs on display at TDS

I drove all teh way out there, and my head gasket blew again (3rd time). Didn't even hit the dirt. It's covered, so the repairs I'm not worried about. But I had to have a friend bring a trailer all the way out there at 3:00 in the morning. It's been along weekend for me.

Very disappointing weekend for me.

Sorry to hear Seth. Makes you wonder what is causing this same freakin' problem. Good Luck with ANOTHER re-build.

Feel sorry for you Seth.

I had the same problem on my '85 years ago. Blew three times. Last time I was pulling a ski boat and got stuck 3hrs from home and the old man (dad) had to come rescue me. Gave up and installed a Chevy 4.2 V8 running on LP Gas. That truck kicked arse for 2yrs before I sold it.

Sorry to steal the thread.

Back on topic...

Was the TDS event this year as busy as every other year or did the move of venue reduce the numbers?

Your motor is poopy Seth...I think this is the 4th or 5th run you missed because your rig is unreliable....maybe you should talk with Zach. He rebuilt his motor and it runs good.

Steve endangering some expensive sheet metal.

I thought for sure he was going to roll.

The Mark mobile.

Yes I still need a front fender. Anyone got one.

Yeah, I was a little sideways but honestly it felt pretty stable. I definately had times in my '88 Xtra cab that got my stomach in a knot. And I almost forgot............................................ ...............................my avatar

I had a great time this weekend with all of you. Chris' computer had a seizure last night so he couldn't copy the pics he took. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

aw man!! why don't people wear seatbelts.... i've heard the i get bound up and cant see argument.... but i put a lap belt in addition to my shoulder belt in my rig so at least when i'm crawling i'm belted... then for faster stuff i use my shoulder belt.... the sad thing about this is it could have been avoided

OK let's see if I can make this work. The last time the pics were all over the place so I pretty much expect the same

Now pay close attention to the RR corner of my bumper. You can actually see the brand new scratch appear (although difficult to see in photo)

Pretty sure it won't since the paints gone I don't even care, I just thought it was neat to catch it on film. As soon as I make up my mind what I'm going to do, it's outta there anyways.
