SoCal:In-Ko-Pah Trail run

So Ryan(Tanto) and I did a quick run up to InKoPah today to see how his long travel works. Turns out it works pretty frickin good!

Some pics:

Was not all that hot out there. Border Patrol all over the place while we were there. Had some fun on the high speed stuff on our way out.

Great times and my wife Jody did an outstanding job driving the 2nd half of the trail.

Getting ready for Big Bear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can really hear him coming with those squeeks.

Almost forgot to mention that we stopped by Corral Canyon and saw that the main OHV area road was totally blocked off. We went around to the Lake side and after Ryan got some angry looks for doing a 360 in the CHURCH parking lot the pastor came up and told us that the entire area around Norm's tower was burned and he had to be evacuated. He also told us that it is likely that they will close it for the rest of the year to let it green back up.

A Church Parking Lot?????

ON Sunday???????????????

Come on Ryan! :bigclap:

Ooops.

The skinny pedal stuck, I swear.

The limiting straps worked on that run back (or so I hear)

Eric was removing his swaybar links when two border patrol guys pull up and unload 6 illegal's from the back of their truck and searched them :bigclap:

Beware of the guy that lives in the trailer there, he thinks that all those roads are his.

It was kind of a last minute deal for us.

some time next week or the following week we are gonna hit up some trails at the end of J street. Nothing hard at all but we really need to see how Marc's rig will handle some flex before big bear.

PM me your cell # and I will call you before hand with times and stuff.

Sorry about that. Not trying to put anyone out.

No long travel for me any time soon. I am more into the rock stuff and a solid axle just makes more sense for me. It would not go on my Runner either. I would find a cherry 1st gen and SAS it and do a engine swap. I am good for now. Just going to do the arb air locker in the rear and regear at the same time.

No huge plans now. I do like how Ryan's LT performs though.

This run was sort of a teaser for BB. I am so ready to go out. Marc has talked me into trying John Bull. No lockers may make that kinda hard but with some good spotting and patience I think it can be done.

with the right lines, a touch of luck, and maybe a pull or two, you can do john bull lockerless. you'll use your skidplates and sliders for sure.

Yeah I think I can do it. I have never needed a pull so far and would like to keep that record going but....

I think I am the only TRAC user who likes it. I know I could not have done miller jeep trail in my 99 Taco without the e-locker. And even with it I spun MTs all day. In the Runner I almost never spun a tire at all and took no bypass lines through any of it.

We shall see though. John Bull is no Joke.

BTW Thanks Austin. We had a good time out there.

When I ran it last year, I did use my locker, and only needed to get pulled over one wall of boulders that had been rearranged into and across the trail.
Bruce had run the trail a few weeks earlier and said that part wasn't like that when he had gone through.

A few guys went to Big Bear a week or two ago and they said they rearranged a few things to bring it back to a "hard" trail.

You should've waved or honked or something, man! We didn't see you until we got on top of the mountain and saw you drive back to the 8.

That is just too funny. You def should have hit us up. Kinda crazy. I did not know I was being watched by anyone except the Border Patrol guys.

Did you go all the way up to the top of the Trail we were on earlier?

Welcome to YT BTW. So cool that we are getting more and more SD/SoCal people around here.

Any chance you are going to make the BIg Bear trip 18-20 Aug? We would love to have you along with us.
