Snow Run 12/27/07 Photos
Well, I was supposed to meet up a group today from Utah to run 5-Mile Pass but no one showed. Go figure. People say they will come then not
.
Oh, well. 5-mile pass was were I first started off-roading/wheeling with my 4runner. I've never ran it in the snow and yesterday was the first time driving it in the snow.
Here are a few of the photos and the link to the rest (just posers shot since this was a solo run):

Nice pics man.
Sorry you had to go at it solo. Runs can be hard to arrange sometimes. Everyone seems like they want to get out on the trails, but then life's little duties spring up and get in the way.
What part of the world is "5-Mile Pass" exactley? Maybe down near Yuma?
Keep an eye out on YT. We might be putting together a schedule for some more runs soon while the weather is nice. Others have mentioned trying to find some snow as well.
AZ and snow generally don't fit in the same sentence though.

traben27 I would love to hit the trail up again but it would a 700 mile trip (one way) since I'm in Arizona.
It's easy to get there this part of the trail is on the left hand side of the road and is either accessed at the first parking area or you go down a few miles to the last parking area (sign in the parking area) and go straight up from there.
This part of the trail I did was about 6.4 miles but it branches off in a few spots up by the old mines. Point 9 on the map is the spot of two mine shafts one was for ventalation (throw a rock down it and you never hear it hit bottom), the other was the shaft itself but is sealed off by an old jeep, dirt and about a 50+' fall. There are two or three other shafts located on the trail that I know of.
Where the first parking area is if you take the trails on the left hand side of the road. Those trails go off into random spots, most of which dead end (I haven't followed all of them) but there are some fun sections if you go up on to the mountains. As I mentioned before check with the guys at UT-TTORA the forum is a little dead but it still gets checked at. If you plan a run give them sometime to respond. Also, check with Utah 4wheel drive assiocation they plan a number of runs and even check with wildyoats (more of a utah based club from what I know.
Sounds good to me, just make sure you keep us stock vehicle guys in mind
.
There might be some snow up in the Sedona/Flagstaff area.
