Sand, storm and a Boar's Tusk

Hooked up with a friend in his FJ62 and some newbies last weekend for a day in the desert on some mild trails. We visited the Boar's Tusk, a volcanic plug in the Red Desert of SW Wyoming and some mountain top sand dunes before being chased back home by an awesome spring storm.

We're building a new website, to launch this month, and we'll have more pics posted there -

Nice rig and pics! Was that very loose sand where the K5 got stuck?

Thanks guys.

The sand wasn't too loose where the K5 got stuck, he's just green. He was the last of our group to come up the trail and he said he only had one hub locked, so he sunk it up to the diffs. The balding 31" tires probably didn't help much either. To his credit, he had only purchased that Blazer the week before, so you gotta give it up to a guy who wheels his outfit with a temporary permit still on it.

The Jeep, the Wagoneer and the Blazer were all new purchases within the last month or so. My friend with the 'Cruiser, and me in the '85 pickup, have been wheeling together for years in various 4x4's. The others bought their rigs just to go exploring with us, so took them along and they had a lot of fun and maybe learned a few things. We're looking forward to the snow in the mountains melting so we can head for the high country this summer -
