Hollister Hills Nov. 26 run pics!
The time is 11am and while I’m filling myself with leftover turkey from last night. I over heard my girlfriend will be stuck at her friends house doing her class projects. Inspired by Bulldog-yota’s post, I decided to excuse myself to do some wheeling in the famous Hollister Hills which is 75miles south of Redwood City.
I have to say this is the best time I had with my truck. The green everywhere landscape made it really pleasant and relaxing to drive around. I stayed in most green trails which are rated easiest and did some blue trails (more difficult) and one black trail (most difficult).
I felt like I was a clown or something because most of the people there driving or watching kept staring at me. I over heard people shouting “Go Lexus!!” and "Its a Lexus!!" and some fellow Toyota drivers gave me the thumbs up. One Jeep passenger even shouted “Go Home!” probably shocked to see a mall crawler in their trails.
My GX made through all the blue trails with out a scratch and I’m also getting fairly confident driving off road and exploring the capabilities of this stock SUV. I encourage all GX owners to take their truck off road or take it to Hollister Hills. It has really nice wide trails that will not harm our precious truck. Anyway here are the pics!!

What idiots! They should be yelling at the guys driving their Lexus' exclusively on the streets, at least you were wheeling yours and actually using low-range!
Congrats man, looks like you had fun!

Charleston, you have to come out with us sometime! Wheeling with friends is really fun. Email or PM me there are a couple runs coming up. (Chuck-calrockx, I have you on speed dial! )
about the DAC, I found it works really well in 4Lo. You can crawl down steep sections without touching the pedals. I did that at Rowher and it worked on the descent well- almost holds you to a standstill. It's not perfect but it's better than I thought it was earlier.

Say, not to shabby! Hey all you need to do is pull off some of that plastic stuff like the step boards and add some lift, some good rubber and some sliders... Come on up to Eldorado Co some time lots of wheelin here in Rubicon Country!

Glad ya got out and had fun! Very strange that people behave in the way they do such as vibing you. Same thing happened to me 15 years ago when I took my Trooper RS out to the local play place and a redneck said the same exact thing including other mumblings. Have fun!

You gotta give it up to a guy who'll take his Lexus up (and down!) that Truck Hill!!
Wasn't one of the 4wd mags going to do a big write up on modding the Lexus and taking it over the Rubicon? I seem to remember a story where they peeled off all of the cladding but that's all I recall seeing about it....

Four Wheeler did take a GX over the Rubicon with Ned Bacon at the wheel. They put a locker out back but there are none available for the front so it was open. They also had bumpers/sliders/etc. The truck was at Off-Road Expo in Pomona this October, it looked nice.
