guanella pass?

guanella pass?

any colorado folks been over guanella pass lately? passable? snowy? crazy? wanna try it soon? let me know.

Guanella was not maintained this winter, so it's likely to be pretty snowy up there still. I was last up there at the beginning of the year and we parked at the Duck Lake, basically near Abyss Lake T.H. along the road coming up from Grant. We skied up the road. It might be a little early still, so have a plan B, but you might be able to bash through. Some of the drifts will be pretty big still I'd guess. Make sure to take recovery gear and some extra clothes in case you get stuck and have to walk back or spend the night.

Check out the Rising Sun forum - they had some event up there to snow bash for a motorcycle event or something crazy like that.

From what I've heard, I don't think I'd want to be on snow on those off camber shelf roads...
