Did a little run with El Vota up to 4 peaks today. Pics up at www.soaztim.com
The amount of trash along the route is just sad. It really pisses me off. I would like to get some help to go and clean this area up a bit. Are you interested?
Details to follow.

It's great that you are focussing your energy toward fixing the problem rather than just bitching about it. That is a very commendable thing to do. But as much as I'd like to help you out, the fact that I'd have to drive nearly 1,200 miles to pick up garbage is where my problem lies. Nice pics, though, got anymore????

I'll fill a bag for you over here!
The rest of the pics are at www.soaztim.com
I don't know the background story on the FJ, but I'm guessing it was stolen and trashed. Nothing was missing so they didn't do it for parts. Crazy people!

Yeah, that FJ would've had some good parts on it, even if torching it was all that they did. The bullet holes make it undesirable except for the most hardy collectors.

Stormin- Thats very cool. I didn't use to pick up trash because I wasn't leaving any. I now realize that we gotta make up for the ones who don't care.
Wormhole- Keep February 9th open if you can. It looks to be the date. More info to follow.

Well, the plan with the 3.4 was not really to improve trail performance, but to improve the drive there. That said....
... it rocked everywhere!!
Such a smooth motor that seems to come on strong right from the get go and well into the RPM range. Was amazing what I could do in 2nd gear. It's now up to me when I slow down, not gravity as was the case with the 3.0.
On the road the 4Runner just flies. I held 75 in 5th up a hill that the 3.0 would struggle to hold 55 in 4th. Plus I even had to let off the gas to keep from going faster. Letting off the gas on a long grade was absolutely unimaginable with the 3.0.
Caught SOAZTim by surprise pulling out of the first light. He thought I had installed some rockets. Mind you, I am driving with a heavy foot enjoying all this new found HP. I am sure I'll calm down... eventually.
Very, very happy with the swap.

Does anyone remember the burned-up Grand Cherokee that used to be way up in the Terminator trail, like in '99 or '00?
A group of folks from the AZVirtualJeepClub (& me, when I had a Heep...) made several expeditions in there with torches, cut-off wheels etc & turned it into a bunch of small parts that we could haul out & to the dump. Perhaps we could rally some 'yoters to do the same?
