Floridian Lost in Texas

And loving it! No more gritty sand and salt water for this guy. I'm in San Angelo for a few months for school and I thought I'd take advantage of the alien terrain. Day 1 of exploration and I find a public off road course, looks like it's used mainly by dirt bikes but trails are still wide enough. Rocky hills are just better in every way than that sand BS. I had a blast. There's a lot of trails and land back there. I probably saw 5% of it. I need to get some folks out there with me before I try some of the more difficult obstacles.

Here's some pics

Did some fishing.

1st trip was Twin Buttes. We caught nothin! Aint no fish in that dang'ol lake man!

We decided we'd go to a different lake every weekend. Since it's going to involve a long drive and were gonna be drinkin we opted to get some new camping gear from Academy. Stay the night and start fresh in the AM.

So original plan when upgrading tires was 15's and 35" KM2's. After the Tundra brake swap the 15's were not an option. Sold the 15's for $250 and bought the 17's right down the street for $200, thanks Craigslist . That brought the price of the tires up around $100 a piece. I'm already this far, may as well go all the way! Those are 35x12.50 Pitbull Rockers.

Yes, I drove 900+ miles to get here on them, no problems at all. They are tits!

1st one was Twin Buttes right outside San Angelo. Second one is O.H. Ivie about 1.5hrs North East. Costs $5 but well worth it. PM me if you wanna plan a trip.

What kind of gearing do you have with those 35's? Setup looks great

Factory 4.30 gears. They're perfect for gas mileage (18mpg hwy at 70mph) but 5.29's would be nice for crawling. I'm gonna leave them alone and go dual cases and lock the front as soon as I get my second car (05 Z06). All depends on where I get stationed.

Another short trip in TX

Closest I've been to flopping my rig. Puckered a lil bit! In the confused words of Ricky Bobby "Don't really know what to do with my hands"

And my buddies Dodge (33's no lift)

Nice rig and good pics.. I am just north of you at Abilene. Lots of good wheelin in West Texas.
Katemcy is not too far from you.. S.E. of Brady,TX and there is a new trail north of you near Blackwell... from what I heard some guy opened up his huge ranch and cut in some really good trails.
Are you at Goodfellow AFB? My son is a crew chief on KC-135's
