Devils Canyon 6/21

first time trail for Jared (jarboarder) and I. two stock trucks, one sweet time. ahhahaha. it is up near mt evans in idaho springs. we should plan a rafting trip down clear creek, then run this trail and camp here. its in arapahoe national forest, and its beautiful. blah blah pictures...

up we go..

fuzzy.

found a rock, had to play

Jared burys it...

and lifts it...

the "challenging" part. wish we had lockers...

my turn

God, is that you?

from I70 take exit 240 (hwy 103 to mt evans) 10 miles south. there is a turn off on the left hand side that is kind of hard to see. its just past Ponder picnic area.

That looks like my kind of trail! My goal for the 4Runner is to take scenic exploratory trips and camp out in the boonies. Nice pics!

bump for a fun trail/camping spot. although i went out there friday night found a great camping spot, way into the trail. just a beautiful night, stars shining, great food, no fire ban. go to sleep, wake up at 730 to GUNSHOTS AND BULLETS WHIZZING DIRECTLY ABOVE THE CAMPSITE. they were slowing down but definitely a bzzzzzzz and some would drop down into the trees and ricochet. i flipped out, jumped out of the tent, packed up everything and then some and high tailed to the top of the mountain to find two US MARINES, active but visiting, unloading guns like they were skipping rocks. unbelievable. we honked and whistled and did everything we could to let them know we were there. kind of a scary situation to be in. they apologized, but i figured anyone with one brain cell would check stuff out before just shooting down a mountain. cmon now people. use your head. your lack of thought could kill someone.
