Ric,

oh heck, the "snowed in" part is a lot of fun! the entire outdoor / environment / weather aspects are awesome. the bad part though is that to afford living there, most people end up having to have multiple full-time jobs, and even then it's a struggle.

Theres other places up there though. I don't think Carbondale is all that expensive, well, compared to Aspen.

Nice pics Ric!
Thanx for putting us up Mark and showing us your home town!

We took over 600 pics, but half of them are blurry or pointing at the sky, lol.
Here's just a few after flipping through them real quick.

Lead King Basin trail

The famous Crystal Mill

Nearing the top of Pearl Pass

Pass summit

Mark traversing the rock fields

Me deciding to take a mud line

And bashing the crap out of my rear bumper and liftgate.
Body damage sux, but I guess it's good incentive to get a rear bumper now (and liftgate =\).

Made it through tho

Fording a semi deep stream

Cruising up a muddy, snowy, Transfer trail right outside of Glenwood

Stopping near Windy Point (10,218ft)

Three really muddy vehicles

Great pics guys...thanks for letting me see the beauty! I grew up going to that area of Colorado every summer. I have been up there every summer since I was five (I am now 36), with the exception of this summer as the wife is pregnant with triplets . We made a trip to Lake City and CB around the 4th of July, but highly missed our fall trip.

I have to say, I am crying with envy!

Oh well, maybe next year...I may not live there, but I think of it as home.

Im hating myself now for missing this trip. But I've decided I'm gonna really try not to go up until I've got my rig all fixed up and plus some.

Once again, more reason for me to move back out there, even the wife is considering it now (neither of us are happy out here in VA). Maybe this time next year we can be back and join you all on the trails!

wow - looks like a great weekend with the typical crazy colorado weather. Sorry we couldn't make it but we had other obligations in Nebraska.

Mark, you truck looks quite different without the big rack on top. I'm sure removing it cut down on wind resistance from AZ though. Really great scenery and contrasts in weather.
