Colorado Fall Colors Aspen/glenwood Springs
We would like to thank Mark for getting this going for us, it was so fun, great area, i think i know where i want to live now, lol
well we took so many pics, its gonna take us time to get them up, but here are a few quick ones. Thankx again Mark... http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47...s2005/view.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47...s2005/mark.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47...2005/brian.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47...rs2005/ric.jpg |
trust me ... it's a fun place to play but you do NOT want to live there!
|
Hooray Snow!! Great pics Ric, wish I coulda been out there. Looks like its almost time for the snow runs to start.
|
r0cky,
why not ? other than getting snowed in, please tell. Dekri, "almost" time for a snow run ? we did one today, lol AND, on the way home. yea it was a blast, Mark did great setting this up and lining up the trails. |
Ric,
oh heck, the "snowed in" part is a lot of fun! the entire outdoor / environment / weather aspects are awesome. the bad part though is that to afford living there, most people end up having to have multiple full-time jobs, and even then it's a struggle. |
Theres other places up there though. I don't think Carbondale is all that expensive, well, compared to Aspen.
|
carbondale, glenwood or basalt ... those places aren't too expensive. aspen and snowmass are though ... :(
|
OIC, yea we know that it take some cash to live up there, we are not moving for awhile, its just so nice up there, she has a great job in Vail, and wants to move up that way, so we will see.
|
great pics.

Nice pics Ric!
Thanx for putting us up Mark and showing us your home town! We took over 600 pics, but half of them are blurry or pointing at the sky, lol. Here's just a few after flipping through them real quick. Lead King Basin trail http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood1.jpg The famous Crystal Mill http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood2.jpg Nearing the top of Pearl Pass http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood3.jpg Pass summit http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood4.jpg Mark traversing the rock fields http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood5.jpg Me deciding to take a mud line http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood6.jpg And bashing the crap out of my rear bumper and liftgate. Body damage sux, but I guess it's good incentive to get a rear bumper now (and liftgate =\). http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood7.jpg Made it through tho http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood8.jpg Fording a semi deep stream http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood9.jpg Cruising up a muddy, snowy, Transfer trail right outside of Glenwood http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood10.jpg Stopping near Windy Point (10,218ft) http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood11.jpg Three really muddy vehicles http://home.comcast.net/~acf_crux/glenwood12.jpg |
Ahhh, very nice, great pics as always Brian, i am very jealous of the camera...

Great pics guys...thanks for letting me see the beauty! I grew up going to that area of Colorado every summer. I have been up there every summer since I was five (I am now 36), with the exception of this summer as the wife is pregnant with triplets :baby: :baby: :baby:. We made a trip to Lake City and CB around the 4th of July, but highly missed our fall trip.
I have to say, I am crying with envy! :cry2: Oh well, maybe next year...I may not live there, but I think of it as home. |
:eek2: Im hating myself now for missing this trip. But I've decided I'm gonna really try not to go up until I've got my rig all fixed up and plus some.
|
Man, you guys have been getting out every weekend, it seems. Hopefully I'll be there soon!
Chris |
Crux,
thankx for post some pics, ill try to get more up later this evening. it was nice. |
Sorry I missed it, it's been a ridiculous week/weekend. glad to see everyone had a good time....
|
Once again, more reason for me to move back out there, even the wife is considering it now (neither of us are happy out here in VA). Maybe this time next year we can be back and join you all on the trails!
|
wow - looks like a great weekend with the typical crazy colorado weather. Sorry we couldn't make it but we had other obligations in Nebraska. :(
John |
Mark, you truck looks quite different without the big rack on top. I'm sure removing it cut down on wind resistance from AZ though. Really great scenery and contrasts in weather.
