Charouleau Gap Trail, Arizona

We had a good trip through the gap with several Tacomas, 4runners and Land Cruisers.

The trail has changed much over the years, and this last trip was no exception. Lots of pictures and a few videos!

Did anyone make it "UP" the boat ramp.

I did with my little tires. This pic is down but I did get back up.

I need to go back and run that one again.

Real nice set of pics, Scott! Looks like a pretty varied trail, which is always cool. I was about to say it looks like fall in a couple of shots (or strange trees!), but then I read the date. Tryin' to be a little tricky, eh?!

Several of us made that climb. It was very easy in my long wheelbase Tacoma, and the truck climbed right up, even with wet tires. There is a pretty good size rock that is exposed on the right side now that slows the climbing speed down, as if you hit it too fast it will pitch the vehicle to the large boulder on the left.

The trail will not be much of a challenge to your 4Runner though. Most of it has been graded...

Of course the step is still fun

Here is a picture of my truck climbing the "ramp"

Hey Scott, thanks again for putting this trip together. It was a blast!

Man, it's really apparent how different the "step" is now, when you look at the video of your climb back in 2003, and then the video of Dan climbing in the FJ40.
