Big Bear Labor Day Weekend *Lots o Pics*
I went to Big Bear labor day weekend, my parents and brother went in my dads Xterra, Robert (Salad_Man on YT) in his 88 yota, and me in my '90 yota attended. Had patchy weather, sunny part of the time, pouring rain the next. The thing that sucked is I wasnt prepared for the rain, as it was 106 degrees at home, but in the 80's and raining in Big Bear. Also there was a fire started near Butler Peak on saturday, im sure from the Lightning. Anyways, we went out on saturday morning, dropped our trailer off at the campground, then ran Gold Mountain, then on sunday we ran the first half of John Bull. Carnage report, I rashed my tires up alot, smacked my IFS skidplate pretty good, hit hard on the rockslider and pivoted on it, and bent a rim but hammered it back (aluminum rims). The Xterra just got its use out of the skids and sliders. Robert used his sliders alot as well. Robert and I both have E-lockers so we were taking the harder lines, my dad took easier lines since the Xterra sits alot lower and only has a limited slip. When we were on John bull, Robert decided to take a line and got himself high-centered, I pulled him off. Also happened to have a group of Project-JK.com jeeps behind us, well one guy decided to take the same line the short wheelbase yota got high-centered on, and found himself high-centered and with a snapped a U-joint on the front axle near the knuckle. We offered to pull him forward, but he had his guy start pulling him back, which pulled him onto his front diff, we stopped him so he wouldnt damage his diff or driveshaft. Nobody in their club seemed to want to do anything, so I grabbed my hi-lift and jacked the front of the jeep up so that he could drive off. I offered to help him since I had all my tools with me, he declined, so we continued on. Mind you we never even got a simply "Thanks". After arriving home I found pics posted on their forum of Roberts truck with the "Jeep Recovery Vehicle" stickers stuck, and them laughing at it, and no mention of how we helped them out. It must be a Jeep thing huh?

Sweet pics. I looked over on that forum, looks like your dad decided to chime in and they all pretty much apologized for not saying thanks...and he snuck a little prop for toyota's in there without them noticing haha.

I'll remember that JK if I ever see it on the trail
Nice pics and glad you guys helped out anyway, it's good karma even if they are ungrateful and try to make you look bad on the internet!
I think that blue xterra is famous from XOC, the xterra forum right?
How was JB otherwise?

Looks like a great time. Silly Jeepers
I really like the rear bumper on the red Yota. Well, I really just like how the side blends cleanly with the rear quarter panel nice and snug. Was the quarter trimmed? Who fabbed the bumper?

Um as for the Xterra, my dad was a founding member SCCX (Southern California Club Xterra) back in the day, but is no longer a member of that club due to some complications. Yes he is a member of XOC, but I dont think his rig is famous.
The red Yota is Robert (Salad_Man here on YT), yes the quarter panel is trimmed. All of the fabwork on both trucks was done by Robert and I.
And yeah those are LED tail lights on my truck.
