Another Moab Trip

Continuing the trend of pictures from trips to Moab. This was the same weekend several other members here were visiting, as well as a bunch of folks from TTORA.

Day 1 we got rained out, tried a trail that turned out to literally be under water.

Day 2 I lead a stock Tacoma and a stock Jeep Wrangler through Metal Masher. Both did surprisingly well.

Day 3 we were off on our own scouting locations for our wedding ceremony in April.

And the "It's a small, small world" photo. If you look closely, you'll see a nice 4runner down in the canyon. If you look even closer, you can see someone taking a picture of their 4runner, and the picture would probably look exactly like the "Tall cliffs at bottom of Gemini Bridges" picture in Elvota's Moab pics.

Looks good Greg, Gemini Bridges is a personal favorite.

Did someone cut you hair, or are you still a hippy too?

Sweet... now my 4Runner is in two threads. :bounce2:

Wonder if one of these little dots you can barely see is actually you?

Nice job on Metal Masher by the way.

We always stop by Gemini Bridges after either Metal Masher or Gold Bar Rim.
I'm still a hippy, as you can see in the photo below of me spotting the Taco through Mirror Gulch. I've just gotten in the habit of braiding it to keep it out of my face.

That is pretty funny that you got a pic looking up too.

Maybe next trip I'll have to make a bigger deal out of it so folks can actually meet up.

So as I pull into REI near my house and see the Elvota parked there I start telling my girl about this cool thread where there is a pic of this truck, then there is a pic of this guy taking that pic from up on a cliff and then theres a pic of the first guy taking a pic of the ones on the cliff! She looks at me and says, uh huh. So what do you know that guy and I say... If I was wearing a shirt that said soaztim and he was wearing a shirt that said Elvota I might be able to pic him out in this store.
So that was that. Haha! Hello, I had no idea who you were in there, but we must be neighbors.
See ya round!
She did love the pic though, and now I convinced her that Moab would be a great birthday trip to take her on.

Phoenix isn't that small of a town. You sure you are not paparazzi spying on my sweet rig?

We will have to hit the local trails sometime. You'd have a great time in Moab... but we just got back from the Escalante area and I must say as far as scenery, that's the place to go.

Moab has better trails though... such a hard decision. Guess you'll have to do both.

Its easy to keep track of you now that I put the GPS locator on your truck! hahahahah

Very true. We are deciding between, Havasupai falls, moab, monument valley and the north rim for memorial day weekend. I am excited to go to havasu falls, but some say that is the busiest weekend of the year and... I hate people around when I'm trying to get away. We actually looked at your escalante pics last night too. Hmmmm. If I do monument valley that would be in the same area huh?

Monument Valley is the same area North, but is much farther to the East. Would be some distance to tie Escalante and Monument together, but could be done. I am betting Escalante is big and varied enough to be your best chance at few people over Memorial Day.

However, if you do hit Monument Valley, look up "Gooseneck" or something like that in the area. It's an amazing overlook into several bends of the Colorado that is worth the short side trip to see. Almost 2 or 3 U-turns at your feet.
