Here's the newest update.

I blew a headgasket in August I think? We drove to Utah and back in July during the hottest part of the year. It had to be damn near 130 as we were coming back through Nevada. My GPS on the dash shut off, but right before it did it's thermometer said 162! Sheesh! My tired old motor was overheating like crazy.

I made it back, went to Big Bear with no problems a few weeks later. Then as I was driving around town on a normal day, it popped.

While it was apart, we remachined the block, got a brand new head, installed a Downey clutch (3.4 V6 adapter), and straightened everything else out.

It blew again? So we did the new headgasket and figured my 17 year old Radiator was the culprit the whole time. Sure enough it was the reason. SO in went a 3 core V6 radiator.

We kept finding coolant in the oil and oil in the coolant. The only thing we could think of was a cracked block. As a last minute attempt, one of the mechanics changed my front cover. He had remembered the grooves buzzed into it form the cheap timing chain that was put on before I got my truck. Bingo, that seems to have solved the problem.

In hindight, if I had checked my radiator, all this could have probably been avoided! Sheesh!

I want my truck to be just like the DeathRunner when it grows up

Seriously, you've done almost everything to your truck that I plan for mine.

Hey, I am doing a long travel on my first gen. I am an RX7 guy and all of this 4x4 and Toyota stuff is new. I am wading through information like mad.

I am wondering if you had to do this again would you do anything different?
