94 truck...body lift sugestions

Hey guys, i was talking about a suspension lift about a month ago, well i have decided to ditch that and just get a 2" body lift. Im currently running 32 inch swampers and body damage is not a big deal...

So who make a good complete body kit that does not cost a lot. My plans are to run those 34 inch LTB from super swamper.

I also want that allprooffroad winch bumper... How will that bumper work with the body lift?

Thanks
Shawn

can't help you on the bumper but you must check out Roger Brown's body lifts before going anywhere else.

The address below will get you to his website, I don't think it's link to the actual body lift pages. Look for the "for sale" or bodylift links. (may need to backtrack to his homepage). You will NOT find more BL info anywhere.

I have a Roger Brown BL. The detailed instructions made instalation really easy.

I got 1.5 inches with UHMWPE blocks. Just enough to fit 32" meats without having to mess with steering extention, fuel filler mods or shifter clearance issues.

I know of no other source for a custom kit like a 1.5. There are 1s and 2s all over but I wanted 1.5. Roger is THE MAN.

Any BL will mess up your bumper fit unless you have the bumper custom made to fit or get custom brackets. If its not too late I bet Allpro can make the bumper to fit if you tell them how tall you want the BL to be. I had my bumper custom made to fit my 1.5 BL.

Depends on the vehicle, what year/model/transmission?

.

I have only been able to find 1" kits which need no link modification. I am certain there are no two inche kits with no mod required. However, I am not sure about roger brown's 1.5 it might be worth checking out. I just purchased the 2" performance accesories kit from 4wheelparts.com which requires link modification. the only thing I am worried about is the shifter extension.

No hard and fast answer to that question. It all depends on the vehicle. I had some shifter problems on my '85 4Runner at 1" lift, one guy even had problems w/ a 1/2" lift on his '85. Others have had no issues at 2", but most run into some issues there. With early automatics, above 1" and you need an extension that I supply. On the 3rd gens, the linkage is fully adjustable and usually fine at 2". In any event, the adjustments are usually pretty minor, trimming the shifter boot surround on M/Ts.

Again, with a specific year and model vehicle and type of tranny, I can give you a pretty good idea of fitment issues.

I installed one of my 1" body lifts on this '94 p/u with no problems, aside from the p/s hose that was loosened while the lift was installed and needed to be snugged back up to stop a tiny leak:

At 2", on an '89 p/u, we had to do a little work on the shifter boots, inverting the heavy rubber boot and some trimming around the boot base. This was complicated by the fact the truck had had dual cases installed and had had the shifter modified for that before the body lift was installed. Likely would have had few issues if the order of the installs were reversed.

Never have run into insurmountable shifter problems, you just need to find what is binding up and figure out how to fix it. Moving the inner boot, turning it upside down (or inside out), trimming the sheet metal boot base, using a pipe over the shift lever to bend it, etc. all are ways to handle this. Beyond that, there are short throw kits for the transmission and transfer case shifters than both raise the level pivot and shorten its throw which will let even a 3" liff work w/o any problems.
