It's been awhile since I posted on here. I sold my '84 runner a couple years back because I wanted fuel injection and something the wife could drive with the kids. I picked up a stock '99 4wd runner with 185k miles for $5k. Had some whine in the rear end but solid drivetrain. I did full tranny, transfer case, and diff oil service out of the gate. The timing belt and water pump at 190k, all belts, plugs and wires. She runs like a top. Started with the bolt ons in October last year in hopes to somewhat keep up with my buddies. Hopefully SAS by next year this time.

Started with the Savage full skid combo, rear bumper and sliders.

 

Did the All-Pro UCA with the SAW coil overs. Threw some fast and furious rotors on.

 

Got some cheapy Federal Couragia 285/75/16s on there. Paid $700 for 4 and they have been a great tire for how aggressive the tread is. Put an Aussie locker in the rear and did the pinion and carrier bearings at this time. No more whiney rear end.

Added a dust light to bumper. I got one with a removable amber lens so I could use it at night as a reverse light. I put it on a switch. I got the factory switches from savage for all the aux lighting. LED reverse lights.

Have to mount the front LED to the new Addicted front bumper. Great work by Scotty at Addicted, super quality.

 

You think you will be happy after a certain point but it never stops. Already sourcing axles, but good times so far. Happy with what she does.

Side note, picking this guy for cheap. On 35s with ARBs front and rear 4.88s and 88k miles, original owner. Not sure where this one will go.

Beat on what I got for the last 6-8 months, was keeping up with the SAS guys on 35s. Since 39s are the new 35...Ordered front and rear diamonds, set for 64" wms but I'll be running IFS hubs and Tacoma brakes front and rear, to bring em out a bit. Gonna adapt the Rockslayer "buggy killer" to the 3rd gen.












Finally got the front axle, passenger drop. Got the adapter to bolt up my gear driven duals behind auto trans. Stay tuned. Waiting on rear axle now.
