That's what it pulled. Got anything to suggest 145ish to the wheels ins't accurate for a vehicle with a Toyota claimed crank output of 190?

That's about 23% driveline loss.

Was the engine truly at operating temp and how many runs did you make. Generally they do about 3 uns so its up to operating temp.

Why? With an auto you should calculate 18-22% drivetrain power lost by the time it gets to the wheels. FWD cars loose a little less than RWD, and manuals loose slightly less than auto's. The 183 hp or w/e it is is rated at the crankshaft, then the engine has to turn a tranny, driveshaft and rear axle.

Edit: I assume you know that, but why is 23% loss out of the question, seems very reasonable to me.

About 145 RWHP is about right for a stock N/A 5VZ-FE.
All those pulls you linked to on Gadget's site were with a S/C installed.

Wow, it feels like more than 140 to me... but I guess my feelings are wrong.

But back to the topic... I have done the deckplate mod and check my milage every time I fill up. Driving a consistant path all summer testing with and without the deck plate, I had an 0.5 mpg increase. Since then I have done the ISR mod and it sounds really nice but didnt get a chance to do the same testing with it. I put a roof rack on, winter came around, and now I'm just doing short trips before and after class so its running cold so I've been getting terrible milage. And I just noticed the other day one of my driverside emergency brake bracket is seized up so I'm sure the constant braking isnt helping my milage any.

I did get to do a couple road trips with the ISR and Deck Plate (fram filter, need one of those true flow things everyone is talking about) and got 21.5 with my roof rack on. When it was stock I could get 21-22, so seems about right. But my biggest problem is that I love the sound so I have to really try to control myself if I'm testing milage.
