What is this switch in my fuse box?

It doesn't have a battery backup (I think). The alarm only goes off when I put the battery cables back on. I pulled the two fuses (15A and 5A) going into the alarm box but neither kept the alarm from going off. Lame. Also the fcc id is ELVAR5C which apparently is the least common fccid ever. No remotes on ebay or google. Lame again.

Can you get some pics up of how they tied into your electrical system?? These alone with the wires that they tapped into could help us lead you in the right direction. Pull off the left kick panel all the way. Also the lower dash trim as alarm co. love to hide other interesting things that may be hard wired past the fuse to stop theft. Should be only 3-4 main wires for the system. One, 12volt constant, one 12volt ignition or memory, one or two grounds. Follow that wire for the valet switch as that should lead you to the 12volt system. Hope this helps.

So I just unplugged the brain and the truck works (not that that's a permanent solution). I think I'll just rip it out. The only benefit I can see to a 12 year old alarm is if it has a remote starter but I don't see an antennae for one. What should I look for to determine if this system was equipped with one? Thanks for all your help guys. I appreciate it a lot.
