What is this?

I am having some trouble finding out what this sensor or whatever is.. I replaced a hose on it but as I am trying to troubleshoot some issues I've been having, I'm wondering what this is.. The part with 0109 on it..

to shift in to 4 wheel drive do you press a button or move a shifter around? could be a shift solenoid to put it into 4 wheel drive. not sure. doesn't look anything like mine on my t100.

I don't see anything connecting it internally to the transfer case but I can't really find anything in the wiring diagrams either and I don't know what category to look at in parts diagrams to find out what it is..

It routes around to the top side of the transfer case just above on the topside of the case just above of where that plug wraps together that has the green wrap on the wiring

Looks like a transfer case shifting mechanism for the trucks that have push button 4wd. Do you have a 4wd shift lever or do you have a switch that you push or turn to activate 4wd.

there is a button to activate 4WD but there is a shifter to select H4 and L4.. I don't see it going into the transfer case at all so that's where i'm confused about what it may be..

That's what I thought. That thing your inquiring about is exactly what I thought it was. I call them a transfer case motor. They look and work like a wiper motor. By pressing your switch that motor will turn a dial locking in your transfer case. The shifter on the other hand just switches you from 4low to 4high.

Now I am not swearing that I am correct. I am very unfamiliar with anything past 95. However I have owned several fords that are setup with the electronic transfer case shifter. And yours looks exactly the same.

yeah from what I was reading, Transfer Case Actuator and after googling it looks like the part.. Thanks! i felt around it and didn't feel or see where it went into the case to know that it was apart of that or not but based on the piece off of the truck it looks like it is on the topside where I couldn't see.. Thanks for the help

i was tryin to ask him if it had a button to put it in 4 wheel drive but he never verified it. otherwise i would have said it's what makes 4x4 engage.
