New Rockers for the cam

My rockers are wasted...Are there companies that make aftermarket aluminum rockers for the 22re engines? If so who? Dont want to spend Toyota $$$ price since its my DD.

Go Toyota. I tried reusing some of the rocker arms after installing a new cam, and a year later the cam was worn and groved. I ended up replacing the cam again, as well as buying all new rocker arms. I HIGHLY recommend just going with the toyota ones the first time.

not sure about toyota's pricing, but they're not *that* expensive when you compare the price of new rockers for a toy to a set of rockers and lifters for a domestic engine. most parts houses should be able to at least order them(i think the going price is $10 an arm or so?), and i think engnbldr carries them.

When I got them from the dealership, the rockers were about $25 each.

Im only finding listings in our books for rockers only for a 90 22re. I have a 93 22re...I think for my year I need to get the rockers AND the shafts together. Is this the case???

all rockers 1983-1995 are the same. 75-95 are interchangeable, but '75-82(20R and first 2 years of 22R) have steel rockers that are noisier and don't wear as well as the aluminum ones.

Thanks for the help it turned out the book was misprinted and only labeled the rockers individualy for the 1990 22re.

Aftermarket rockers were $17 but no one carried them so I went Toyota for $22 each plus $2 each resale for the set screws.
