A little update
Well, I made some progress tonight on the elocked rear axle I picked up. I was able to remove both axle shafts after alot of wd40 and some work (going to be sore in the morning). With no problems, except for a rounded off nut that is now stuck in a socket .
Any how I removed all the nuts/washers from around the third member/diff. but I'm unable to remove it. Is there some special way that I'm supposed to remove it that I don't know about?
I was under the asumption that all that needed to be done was to remove the axle shafts and the nuts around the diff. and it should just pull out. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Progress photo (working out of my parents garage since I live in an apartment):
I'm doing all of this to make sure that the gears are okay and to make it light to transport.

when the axle is still on the truck it is easy since you can just put a jack under the pinion and jack up a lil bit and the seal pops easily. I guess just try to spray around the 3rd with something that may eat away the seal and let that soak in
