Level 10 is great to work with... you call em up, or check their website, decide what you need, and place the order. If you get a valve body, they'll send that to you, and you can do the swap. Your truck doesn't have to be out of commission. A shop can do the install, if you feel more comfortable with that. I believe there's a core deposit, so you'll probably have to send your stock valve body back.

argh.. It's so hard to keep up with all this stuff when I really dont know a whole lot about what I'm doing.

The level 10 thing seems like a good idea to do at some point. I can't find the website anywhere right now. I keep searching. Would I just order a valve body from them do the swap and send my old one in? Is the swawp something you can do on your own?

here's Level 10's website : http://www.levelten.com/

here's the tacoma parts they've got ready : http://www.levelten.com/store/import...ges/toyota.htm

Only you can decide if you are capable of installing it. When in doubt, I wouldn't attempt it until you knew you could, however.

Depends on how good you are with tools. So how good are you?

By installing "myself" I usually mean having a friend that knows what he's doing install it as I pass the tools

well, if you had someone there who knows what they're doing, go for it. My understanding of the procedure is that you drop the pan, remove the filter, take out a couple bolts, and do the swap.

I can't wait till I get mine

Don't forget the UDR fuel kit when you get the SC'r. That's only another $1K.

Hey, you need to check out www.gadgetonline.com. That should keep you (nags) busy for the rest of the night.

damn.. everytime I turn around I need to spend more money on the truck. My damn supercharger isn't even here yet.. :-P

Once I get the supercharger installed and tuned and all I guess I'll give level10 a call and work something out.. then later down the road get some sway bars

thanks for the help

lol, yes, I've spent many nights going over gadget's site... great information there. Even after I've read through it all, I go back over it just to soak it all in... He actually does a great job on the whole tranny upgrades... so definitely check that out!

URD is already on the way as well as the the URD pulley.

I've spent a while on gadgets website already, but not really knowing a lot about cars to begin with (all my experience is with motorcycles) there are a lot of things on there that I just don't quite understand fully

<96 runner>

do you happen to know anything about fuel upgrades? I was wondering if an APEXi SAFC II with upgraded injectors would be a good idea? I see the URD kit, but I'm just evaluating all the options. I hear conflicting reports regarding the SAFC II... Generally because people ask about "injectors" or "safc 2"... But would BOTH be a good solution?

lol, I guess you did

Although, I didn't really see a clear-cut answer, although someone did mention they had this setup, and really liked it.

I was wondering how this compares to the URD kit... The SAFC II looks super-easy to tune, and it definitely gets points on the "cool" factor... It also seems to be cheaper, because the SAFC II will run $289, and injectors & harnesses off of URD will run $379... which is a little cheaper... But again, I'd be curious to see how they compare.

Of course URD does get some extra points because gadget proves, time and time again, he knows what the fsck he's talking about -- and he runs his products -- which proves something in my book.

Damn... just trying to get the best for my taco! Some of these decisions are so hard, lol.

So am I missing anything else now? I've been doing all kinds of research and untill this thread I never even heard of the VB upgrade.

I've got the S/C, URD kit, URD pulley, gauges, and gauge pod

I posted about it here and over on some other boards and really never got a clear cut answer either.. So I just bit it and went for the proven URD kit. A friend of mine that has nothing to do with tacomas swears by the SAFC however.. I was really up in the air about it but decided to just got for the tried and true URD kit
