Yeah good point. Sad isnt that we are forced to accept the fact that scumbags can and will mess with honest and decent people's property and we just have to take it.
Makes me want a NV scope ...

Wow, that looks really good. I have a friend who works in a fabrication shop and he's going to help me mount my fogs onto my 99 SR5 just like you've done here. I'm wondering where you bolted to. You mentioned that you were trying to figure that out but I'd like to know what you ended up with. Thanks

I bolted them to the lower support brace. I just drilled a couple new holes, but there are two holes close to where I put mine, they just were about a hair off for where I wanted the grilles to be.

This is my second 3rd Gen this year that aowRS has helped me mod... or more accurately I've helped him mod (but I pay for the parts though).

I loved the look of his Hella 4000 mounted in the grill of his '01 so I had him do it on my '97 with Hella 700FFs (sold) and now to my '98 with the far superior 4000s. As an added perk these 4000s come with a running light that is connected to the parking lights. It looks pretty cool as you can see in the picture.

The additional mounting on his '01 was a very involved process that I just didn't feel right about having him repeat for my truck. So we figured out a MUCH simpler bracket that is just as stable as the skeleton that he made for his truck.

We still cut the grill, blacked it mounted the 4000s to the bumper but the heavy lights need additional support or you'll strobe your way down the road. For the new and improved mounts (well new, just as good, and a hell of a lot easier) we cut and bent, bead blasted and painted two pieces of stock steel and attached them to the back of light housing via drilled holes (in lights and brackets) and stainless steel hex bolts. We attached the other side of the bracket to the radiator mounts. What is cool about this mounting design (other than the simplicity) is that you can do fine adjustment of the headlight aiming by adding washers to the bolts where the mount to the truck.
I can shoot and add a picture of the mounting brackets if someone wants but for now here is the finished product.

Looks like the left one is about 3 mm lower than the right one.

Like Hell! (You guys don't know how many times we measured this... pre-drilling, pre-cutting, pre-mounting, post-mounting and so on)

The grille was origin'lly a Satoshi Mod grille...and I really really wanted to make use of the 520's so with a bit of improvisation I came up with what you're seeing. I like the way it turned out.
