Coolant Additives?
I'm getting ready to do a radiator flush this weekend, and was wondering if anyone has tried any of the coolant additives, like Prestone anti-rust stuff or enginkool? I wasn't sure if they were worth it, or if there's potential to do more harm than good with that stuff.

I dumped some Anti-rust into the radiator on my Escort. Don't know if it works, though. I won't know until next fall.
Usually, I avoid any such additives or chemicals in the Runner.
Just FYI...make sure you use Toyota RED coolant. I don't know specifically what the difference is, but I've been told by several reputable mechanics, including non-dealer salary, to stick with what the user's manual recomends.
I'll be flushing mine next weekend. I just got my TRD thermostat

Check this out......

RMI 25, Red Line Water wetter and distilled water is what all the turbo car racers use.
Does a great job too.
