Chrome vs. Ceramic

Why is there such a big price difference between chrome and ceramic headers? I'm guessing ceramic is better but by how much and is it even worth the extra money????

Thanks guys!

well chrome makes more heat in your engine bay and will discolor and may rust.... ceramic is better wont heat your engine bay as much wont discolor over time and wont rust

I was told that ceramic keeps the heat inside making the air less dense and exists the exhaust much easier. This coming from a local race car driver.

For the price, and as Snap On said I wouldnt really bother too much with ceramics unless it made a major difference. If you could get another option such as black then you might can go out and buy the wraps to put on them, but I'm not too familiar with that so I can't say if it works or not.

I actually just replaced the stock manifold with an OEM cause I at the time I didn't have the money to spend for a header but at the same time just needed to get that crap manifold outta there.

Thinking of going with the LCE header and high flow cat here soon though, as I think there is a leak in the head pipe from the manifold to the cat. Does it really change the sound? Notice a MPG change?

Thanks for chiming in after all this time.
