I think you need to hit up the 2nd generation category if your inquiring about a 93.

I too have boot failure after 5 months from a modest 1.5" lift all around my truck. Mine squeezed all the grease out between the axle and inner cv boot on both sides. No cracks or holes. This is either coincidence or people are full **it when they say you don't need a diff drop with a small lift. I have read about a lot of boot failures lately after small lifts of 1.5" on Yotatech as well as other forums. My $.02

I just ordered the diff drop kit from toytec, i will let you know how it works out.

on a side note i sent an email off to warn products. they do not make any kind of hubs for 3rd gen's and they say nobody else does either. something to do with the way the wheel hubs are designed.

I swear I've seen a thread where somebody showed the process of them swapping ADD to manual hubs on a 3rd gen 4Runner but of course that doesn't mean much till I do some searching and give you guys a link to it. Maybe a company existed at one time but no longer makes them since from what I heard they cost a lot of money and is a lot of work to swap out the hubs.

Personally I don't understand why auto makers are going ADD hubs, people lazy or something?

So what was your outcome after the diff drop? No more issues?

There have been many threads with arguements over whether or not diff drops actually work, thanks for the quick reply! I'll be installing my daystar 2.5" lift soon and I'll be sure to install the 1'' diff drop too damn it!

People on this site think their post count equals their IQ. I've read too many posts on here about boots failing after a modest lift like mine and yours
And people think your crazy and blame it on quality of boot or you lifted your truck twice the amount of what you thought. Truth is is there is no standard for all trucks when lifting. My OEM boots are failing only a few months after installing my TRD springs up front netting me only 1.5". There are too many failures after small lifts for it to be coincidence therefore I think a recommendation of the diff drop for ANY lift is a safe thing and I'd rather install a diff drop for good insurance over new axles and/or boots each side any day!

Thanks for posting your results.

the drop kit from toytec only cost 30 bucks, campaired to what some lifts kits costs its really nothing and it helps out so much. the next question that should be asked is why dont all the lift kits come with the drop kit. seems like common sense to me
