Banging the tailgate on your head!!!
Has anyone done this? I just banged the corner of the tailgate that goes over the tail lights on my head. One inch gash, blood and a good headache. I pulled the tailgate down by the strap while I was to the side. Stupid lesson..... don't try this at home. At least I did not bend the tailgate.... and I thought I was hard headed

It's usually called a "self correcting error". I have done it twice (fortunately no head damage) and dodged it several times. Not fun. I guess it doesn't open as fast as I would like. Head wounds bleed like no other. Hope you recover well.

Watch your shins on the hitch too.
Sorry about your head, been there but no blood for me, lesson learned.
I sure wish our third gens had a tailgate instead of a hatch!

And have to roll the window down anytime I want to let my dog in or out of the back? No thanks! One of the main reasons I sought out a 3rd gen over a 2nd gen was the lift up hatch.

I typically bang my head all over under the car or sides, or everywhere.... say big head!... I am going to try wearing a helmet.... I have a snowboard one that should do the trick....

I've done the same thing many times, especially on that corner where it wraps around the tail lights...plus my being 6'5" it is right at forehead level!

My wife slammed the rear door down on my head once. That knocked me silly for a moment. One second I was fine, the next the world was spinning and I was wondering what the hell happened.
I've cracked my knee getting out of the driver's door a number of times, usually when someone pushed the chair forward and I didn't bother to push it back. That hurts like a #%^#$%.
