Another Rattle
So I found out the other rattle from my front end is coming from the hubs. I have manual locking hubs, and when they are in the "free" position, they rattle down the road really bad. When I lock them, the rattle goes away. Has anyone run into this before? How easy is it to rebuild the hubs? And while I'm in there, should I replace them with automatic hubs?

Manual hubs are more betta cause you arent driving down the road with your diff engaged. Less wear and tear basically when you arent using.
"Auto hubs" means always engaged.

Drive flanges mean "always engaged"
Auto Hubs=junk, you have to drive forward to lock, drive in reverse to unlock, they break, theyre .
ADD is alright.

my friends 94 front ifs rattled a bunch when driving down dirt roads. it was the brass insert bushings inside the front spindles, they were wallowed out and the halfshafts were rattling around in there. replaced the front spindles and now no noise.
but yea sounds like some hubs need to be rebuilt in your case.

You can get into specifics, but, in reality, you're CV's are still spinning in 2wd, so I would say they are always engaged...
