285's Ordered! (Wild Country TXR)
After months of researching, I finally decided on a tire that fits my needs and ordered them. I got Wild Country Radial TXR II's. They run 32.9 diameter and 11.3 section width, so hopefully, they'll clear the upper a's with no issues. It will be a few weeks before I get them mounted, but at least they're ordered! Anyone have feedback on this tire? The reviews I read on them were quite good. BTW, they were $140 out the door!

Wild Country tires are the best I have ever owned. Payed $125.00 a piece for mine mounted ,balanced, tax , title and out the door 3 years ago and they look like they have been hardly used.I'm off the road all the time and live on a gravel road in the mountains so the tires get a good work out,Lol.Plenty of snow , Rain and mud and no problems at all.
Mine are 16" or 31.5" and with no lift on my Tacoma they rub when I turn a certain way and have the frame twisted a little. They just bearly touch the plastic shroud in the wheel well. No big deal. I do rotate them every 4,000 miles and when the day comes that I need new ones they will be another set of Wild Country! Mike

I ran two sets of them on my old rig from Les Schwab.
Darn good tires, and even after 40 to 50K on them, they still looked new.
Best wearing tire I have ever owned.
They are great in the snow too.
I thought about getting some for the FJ, but I wanted a more aggressive tire this time around.

Thanks for your input everyone. I'll definitely be posting pics in the next few weeks and will do a review on them as well.
I found them at a local tire shop actually, under the Multi-Mile (Wild Country/Wild Spirit) brand. The guy was showing me $180 - $200 tires and I kept telling him to show me something cheaper. Finally he got to the TXR II's and shot me a great price. They even had a truck in the parking lot that had these tires on them.
The TXR's look much better in person than in the pic. VERY deep tread (20/32") and look to be a nice combination of an A/T and M/T. I'll keep everyone informed.

Got mine from a private dealer in Summersville , WV called the "Car Doctor". I was driving by one day and saw 4 of them laying out front ready to be mounted on someones truck . I stopped and asked the owner how much for 4 of them mounted , balanced and out the door and he said "How does $125.00 a tire sound?" I said great! and he ordered them while I was there and said they would be there the next afternoon and they were. The rest is history! Did alot of reading about these tires on here and other sites a few years back and for the price you get a terrific tire, Mike

great tire I've ran two sets and loved them...I might get them again after my Bfg all terrains go bald, but I don't know. It will be a while because I just trashed two of them (my Bfg's) and they had about 65% left...so I had to buy two new bfgs just about 2 months ago. Anyways be sure to post pics when you get them on!

Ive run TXR's on my last 2 cars. Excellent tires. They wear like iron, i had 35000 on them on my old car when i sold and they still had tons of life left. On my 4runner I'm going on 20,000 and they have barely worn at all. Definitely get them siped if you drive on snow/ice a lot. I tow my snowmobiles around a lot and am still impressed with how well the tire grips and hook up when i need to get on the brakes. You will be happy.

Thanks again for all the input! My tire shop helped me test fit a set of basically bald Nitto Terra Grapplers today. They cleared the upper a's with room to spare, which is very good news since the TXR's a little narrower. Also, the TG's didn't rub anywhere on the running board or front valance. I know I'll need to trim with the TXR's because of the very deep tread compared to the TG's, but great to know they'll fit! I get them mounted next week and will definitely post pics!
