22r interchange with 22re
I have a fuel injected 22r in a 85 4runner would a carbed 22r work as a replacement ? And would I be able to still use my fuel injection?

Are you talking about replacing the longblock?
Yes, they are identical with exception of the fuel pump cam on the carb and the mechanical fuel pump block off plate of the EFI. Minor things.
Also, depending on what the motor comes out of you may have to change the oil pan and pickup tube (strainer).
This is also a good time to replace the cam for something like engnbldr's RV cam
That's up to you though.
Hope this helps,
Todd

Since you're in WA, give engnbldr a call.
He can hook you up with a rebuilt (or you can learn how to rebuild it yourself), get you a new cast head - with "improvements" of course.
Darin (esquire812 on 4x4wire) has 2 of his mills running now, very happy with them.
I'm in process of doing a rebuild on my origional 22r motor with EB's parts.
Just a thought.
