removing 1st gen running boards

have any of u taken yours off? im having a heck of a time trying to get mine off, the bolts and screws keep braking. any ideas of how do get these things off?

Cut it off.

Rip it off.

Just get the thing off.

Most the cosmetic stuff on 1st gens have a tough time looking pretty after coming off.... Mud Flaps, Running boards, Decals, Trim for the removable top. Its old and it breaks, puck it.

Soak with some kind of penetrant - PB Blaster, WD-40, etc, etc... and let it sit for a while before you try again.

Did you try the usual WD40/Liquid Wrench routine? How about heating the bolts? All else fails, you can always use a nutbreaker...
I'm looking for a set of 1st gen running boards, BTW, so if you're not ripping them apart and they're in okay/good condition when you're done, please let me know.
