03 Surf Hitch Receiver Mod
Well folks, it's been a long, frustrating journey, but I finally got the 03 Runner factory hich receiver and got it installed yesterday on my 03 Surf.
Had to do minor bumper trim, but it looks just like the 03 Runner factory receiver:

hehe, that is so wierd you could'nt get one from the factory IN JAPAN! How messed up is that? Anyway, congrats on getting your factory hitch. Looks sharp. Now hook up that Jetski and rip it up brah...that color of your Surf is really nice.

Hey, you just reached the century mark in posts, congrats!
One thing about your install, though, the spare is too clean! Get that beautiful Surf on the beach and post pics, please! Your install looks even cleaner than factory, very nice. If only we could order the rear fogs as easily as you got your hitch. Or can we?

Thanks guys.
BT17R- I have had a number of requests to date about ordering/getting parts from here. One difficulty is the Yen-$ exchange rate, which right now is 115 Yen to the $. Some things can be prohibitively expensive, and inexpilcably, something you would think would cost a fortune, is cheap. I've been here almost 13 years and I haven't figured it out yet.
Another peculiarity here is that you can't order something on the net or phone and use a credit card unless it is a domestic delivery and a delivery gomer can get your autograph. It's all domestic COD unless you purchase from a bricks and mortar outfit. Then, even if I could get the part, I'd have to buy it and the other person would have to pay me. I don't know a safe way to do that.
Maybe I should open a parts store

I have to admit, the dealer sent me to their body shop to have the work done. Although I supervised, the craftsmanship is not mine.
I think WE really did a good job.
Thanks everyone for your help in getting this done. Diablo, your picture you sent helped them immensly. They referred to it constanly, while they did the install.
