88 toy LC eng. Engine (longtravel susp.)

i got a 88 toyota pick up. Bought it for 2k, got stationed in cali so made the long drive from Texas to here and lasted about 2 months here and the motor threw a rod I'm guessing..
any way i have a long travel kit in the front .pretty much a Total Chaos kit just "homemade" i don't know the total travel number.
just bought this LC engineering motor a week ago and its going in the truck tomorrow. should be lots of fun!
plans are slowly make it a pre runner . a fun toy to play in the sand with
on to some pictures..
(yes tires have crazy positive camber...its not aligned or anything ..no shims at all on the uppers)and pics are in reverse order sorry

yea the pictures are definitely backwards..
lol.

You should check out the thread guidelines for build up, though. It's at the top of the build up threads.
They try to keep all the titles similar.

"Only additional rule in here is the thread title...

"_username_ _year_ _model_ Build-Up Thread"

example

"Fink's 1985 4Runner Build-Up Thread"

This will make it 10x easier to search and find the build you want to look at."

What in the world would your 1st SGT do if he pulled a room inspection and saw your 22R on the dormroom floor?

I'm sure a mod will come along and help.. :p

4wd ftw

cv's aren't anything difficult... but pre runners are cool too.

That's a pretty bad-a$$ motor

What kind of rear suspension are you doing?

i need to save some money to do the back since they don't have a welding shop on base to do our own welding and fabricating so it will be a little while.
but the plans are to do a simple set up ..Deaver leafs with a shock (idk what i want to run yet) and the total chaos 12" shackle .

how much are you wanting to spend on shocks? lol ive been researching so ill share, the bilstein 5100's through 5150's are a nice setup but lack valving options $65-$125, the 7100's are awesome and have lots o options but are kinda pricey..$188

im likeing the BBCS shocks very nice setup and have an integrated bumpstop and are specifically valved for rock climbing $110

im kinda leaning towards a cheaper but ok option lol doetsch tech 8000 pre-runners...their $40 ish, have good reviews and also have an integrated bump stop...sweeeet

all prices are Each and from poly performance...except the doetsch tech's hafta buy those direct or from somewhere els..

and friggin kudos on the motor dude AWESOME wish i had the dough to do that!

You will have to make a video and keep us updated on the motor. I want to hear that thing run.

Looks good!
