I need some stronger rims
Went wheelin for a couple hours today. Went with my buddy in his wrangler. 2 to 4 inch lift with 33's and lockers front and rear. I was following him and doing every thing he did in my stock 87 runner on 31's.
Damage received: Flat tire, mangled rim all dented in(different tire, but still held air), mangled and bent u-bolt on right rear leaf spring, right rear shock damn near bent in half, bottom of smittybuilt rear bumper dented all to hell. Powered through some boulder crawling to not loose traction and hit a huge rock and bent and scratched up front fender and busted headlight. Not to mention the horrible amount of damage to my t case skid plate and my rear diff. EDIT: not to mention my ugly ass nerf bars are done for. bent up and dented
But.....I MADE IT THROUGH!!!!
Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I was wondering what you guys would recommend for some better stronger rims. Ive never seen that happen before...

Nerf Bar: Don't function as you might think: instead think real Armor...
stronger rims: Rim stiffeners similar to a beadlock but not a beadlock...search Dirtco's 86 4Runner build he runs them...
nice thing about steal rims, you can pound them back...mag or aluminum rims you get a nice crack and than the next day you are looking on craigslist for 1 rim

Well, After reading and posting in his SR5 remodel thread, I was under the impression he was trying to fix it up, not mash the thing.
What number thread is this, Logan? 266??

haha I find the harshness amusing. funny how much people care about what others do to their own vehicles....redoing the interior isn't really even to make it look better to me now. Just making it more resistant. Preventing rust (already got caught out in the rain once with the top off and submerged it up to the floorboards in mud). Got it lined from the firewall to the tailgate and the inside of the body panels lined with rubberized undercoating. Currently cutting out all the diamond plating for the tailgate and four interior panels.

drove it home just fine...start tomorrow on to get a better look on my shops lift. I work for napa auto parts, so every thing i get is damn near dirt cheap. Edit: and everything I get from napa is usually cheap, but the warranty is at least decent

The reason you're getting a lot of flak is that we've all been on the trail and gotten stuck behind the guy that is blocking the trail because he broke and had no business of being there in the first place.
I realize you didn't break down, but it seems like you weren't too far from it.
